"My therapy visit following double knee replacement has been thoroughly satisfactory. I was especially impressed with my therapy. One therapist in particular, Barbara, had a special talent and was able to feel my energy blocks with her fingers. From what little I know of soft tissue therapy, it generally is aggressive massaging of swollen ligaments and muscles. In her case, though, her soft painless touch was like an "extraction" experience. She was able to draw out the energy block and free up the energy flow right on the spot. I was quite impressed."

"I came to Alden Estates of Barrington for two weeks in October 2009 and for another six weeks at the end of the year. My orthopedic surgeon recommended Alden to me and her choice was the best. The Alden staff – nurses, aides, dining room staff hostesses and wait staff, activity personnel – were pleasant and always caring. And, I would like to highly commend the therapy staff. I firmly believe my recovery, from being a non-walker when I arrived, to being able to walk in such a short period of time is due to their great abilities. “The therapy is great and I feel that I am making progress every day. The staff really listens to me. For example, if you are having a problem and have pain, they work with you to alleviate the discomfort. My nurse Maureen gets 10 stars. I don’t know how she does it, but she remembers everything and does it all. I would recommend this place to anyone in a New York minute!”

“The convenience of the WiFi technology at Alden Estates of Barrington is wonderful. During my stay, I was able to access the Internet from anywhere in the building, including the dining room, beauty salon and even my own room. "My husband, who had a stroke and now has a tracheotomy, has been a patient at Alden Estates of Barrington since March 2007. When he came here, the staff went out of their way to make him feel at ease and comfortable. Nurses and other staff now stop by his room to chat, share stories about their families and talk sports. In a way, the staff has become like a second family to my husband. They take care of him when I cannot be here and the nurses do an excellent job of keeping me informed about how he is doing. I am grateful that he has people who genuinely care about him."
