Administrator

Greg Nienaber, LNHA

Greg Nienaber is the Administrator at Alden Estates of Barrington and is also the facility's Regional Director, in addition to Alden Poplar Creek Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Hoffman Estates, Alden Alma Nelson Manor and Alden Park Strathmoor Rehabilitation and Health Care Centers in Rockford and Alden Meadow Park Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Clinton, Wisconsin. He began his career in long-term care as a Nursing Assistant while receiving his bachelor's degree in Biology/Chemistry from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. He has a master's degree in Cell Physiology from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. Greg has been a licensed nursing home administrator since 1975.

Angie Wirtz

Angie has an impressive career in health care and meeting the medical needs of the older adult population. Before coming to Alden in 1996, she completed three semesters of nursing school at Ravenswood Hospital in Chicago, worked part-time at Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center and was an Office Manager for a physician practice in Chicago. In the 11 years that she has been with the “Alden family,” Angie has held the positions of Staffing Coordinator, Admission Director, Executive Director and Assistant Administrator and has worked at a variety of Alden facilities, including Alden Northmoor, Alden North Shore, Alden of Waterford, Alden Long Grove and most recently Alden Estates of Barrington.

Director of Nursing

Ireen Evangelista, R.N.

A graduate of West Visayas State University in the Philippines, Ireen holds a degree in nursing and has more than 15 years of experience in long-term care. She served as a charge nurse for six years at Alden Des Plaines Rehabilitation and Health Care Center before assuming her position as Director of Nursing at Alden Estates of Barrington. Ireen is responsible for managing day-to-day nursing operations at the state-of-the-art facility, which offers top-quality medical and therapy services and world-class amenities.
